Those of you who tweet may already have picked up on the furore that greeted Harry Harris’ send up of the publicity image created for Bird’s Eye last year by celeb blogger Honest Mum.
Said Bird’s Eye: ‘Fish finger sandwiches and what makes the perfect sarnie has always been the subject of debate. We don’t believe there is a right or wrong way to enjoy a fish finger sandwich, so whether it’s with ketchup or mayonnaise – or even olives – we encourage everyone to get creative in the kitchen.’
Said Harry Harris who started the Twitter storm: ‘Nobody who works at Birds Eye has ever, *ever* made a fishfinger sandwich.’
Do we care? certainly not as it has resulted in our bright yellow ‘bronze winner’ logo hitting the headlines along with a nice plug for the awards in Bird’s Eye’s tweet:
‘Enjoy a delicious Gluten Free Fish Finger Sandwich! Bird’s Eye’s gluten free fish fingers recently picked up Bronze for Meaty and Fishy Ready Meals at the FreeFrom Food Awards with judges praising their ‘crisply coating’ and saying they were a ‘generous, tasty fish portion’.
